Cross-Layer Optimization for Industrial Internet of Things in NOMA-Based C-RANs

This article investigates nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-based cloud radio networks (C-RANs), where edge caching is adopted to cut down the crowdedness of fronthaul links. We aim maximize energy efficiency (EE) by jointly optimizing power allocation, analog, and digital precoding, which turns out be an intractable nonconvex optimization problem. To tackle this problem, we first select cluster heads using selecting cluster-head (SCH) algorithm, analog precoding matrix can resolved means maximizing array gains. Then, device grouping algorithm proposed group devices according equivalent channel correlations, thus, NOMA in same beam are capable sharing vector. Finally, joint design allocation decompose resultant problem into two subproblems solve them iteratively applying Taylor expansion operation minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection. Simulation results validate that NOMA-based C-RANs with a hybrid (HP) scheme achieve higher spectral EE than traditional orthogonal (OMA)-based approach two-stage HP scheme.
